The Role of the Nurse

The Emergency Clinic at Ryhov County Hospital includes the Emergency Care Unit along with the Emergency Department and our administrative care unit.

  • As a nurse in the emergency department, you will work with acutely ill patients of varying ages and with different medical, surgical, or orthopedic conditions. You are part of the team that assesses the patient's priority level and need for care. Since we want the patient to be involved in their care, information and contact with the patient's relatives are important parts of your work.
  • The work in the emergency care unit is varied and care-intensive with a fast patient flow and a lot of personal responsibility. You assess new patients every day and face constantly new challenges that need to be solved.

As a nurse, you have a holistic view of the patient's complex needs. You are responsible for care, medication, psychosocial needs, and collaboration issues regarding the patient. We want the patient to be involved in their care. This means that communication and information are very important parts of your work.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse or will graduate in June 2025. To ensure the best possible summer planning, we view positively if you can work continuously throughout the summer, otherwise as many weeks as possible during the period of weeks 25-35. Introduction will take place outside of these weeks.

With our summer positions, we want to offer you an opportunity to learn and develop together with our operations. Before summer 2025, we will hire nurses for summer positions starting both in January and later in the spring. There are great opportunities for extension and permanent employment.

The program includes 20 full days spread over eight months with lectures, internships, and reflections. RIU gives you the opportunity to meet other nurses in the same situation where you exchange experiences and provide each other with advice and support.
